THE PROJECT "PORTA DEL SUD" (South gate)

With the project "Porta del sud" (South gate), the winner of the competition "Principi Attivi"- “Young Ideas for a Better Puglia” promoted by the Region of Puglia, our association would like to make the city of Bovino an assembly point for the discovery of the locality, starting from learning the Italian language.

For all the inhabitants of Bovino, "the gate" of excellence is the arch of “Porta” the major, historic gateway to the city's historical center. This suggestion did not only lead us to give this name to the project, but in the genesis of the project the associations connected with the word, 'arch' can be the access to history, art, culture and traditions not only of our city but throughout the South of Italy. We would like to give special attention to the many Italians around the world, creating opportunities for meeting and rediscovery of their lands of origin, especially for young migrants of second and third generation who often do not know Italian.
